Surazeus Astarius is the pen name of Simon Seamount, epic poet and cartographer who lives in Columbus, Georgia.
Chinese Name: Kwan Shi-Yu 關詩雨
Korean Name: Kwan Si-Woo 관시우
Born in Oregon in 1964, Simon grew up in Texas in the 1970s, then attended high school and college near Seattle in the 1980s, graduating from Washington State University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature.
Living in Seattle 1989 to 1992, Simon worked as a word processor and a desktop publisher. Hitchhiking across the United States 1993 to 1997, Simon played guitar while improvising narrative poems and lyrics.
After working in Michigan as a web developer 1999 to 2004, Simon earned a Master of Science in Geographic Information Science 2005 to 2008, then started working as a cartographer and a geospatial analyst. Simon has worked since 2010 as a cartographer and terrain developer in Georgia.
Surazeus wrote an epic poem about philosophers in 2011 to 2015, and has written more than 10,000 lyric poems since 1986.
